CourseGraphic Your child is ready to expand their cooking skills with more independence! They will continue to establish the basic cooking concepts with preparation, measurement, and general food safety. This class will explore various techniques of cooking with different kitchen tools and appliances. They will learn the importance of healthy nutrition, planning a menu and grocery shopping within a budget

Students will learn how to make tasty and healthy snacks like pancakes, breakfast egg cups, homemade granola, eggy in the heart, tacos with homemade tortillas and mini pizzas, strawberry shortcake and oatmeal cookies....and will create small recipe book to start building on the items they have learned to make. Best of all, they get to eat what they make! 
 
Note: a parent or other adult should be present during the class.

Supplies you'll need to participate in the class/before the first day of class:
Flour (1-2 pounds)
Sugar (1 pound)
Vanilla
Cinnamon
Eggs (12 eggs)
Butter, unsalted (one pound)
Baking powder
Heavy whipping cream (8 oz.)
Berries of your choice 
grated or shredded cheese (1 package)
bread\
milk (4 cups)
oatmeal, (regular kind, NOT instant or quick cooking)
tomato sauce
pizza topping of your choice
tomato
cilantro
avocado

*NOTE:  Some ingredients maybe added for week #2 of the class, depending on the class pace & their capabilities.  We will let parents know after week #1 if there are any additional items needed for week #2, so these can be gathered over the weekend.
